The perfect travel date

Despite having been proud and happy single for the last couple of years, I probably fell in love countless times. Needless to say that it never lasted very long. Not necessarily because I fell out of love, more like because I didn’t fall, they tripped me.  I don’t regret a single moment (OK, maybe the one or the other). What I loved about it most was the excitement of travelling to different places with the one I was in love with at that time . Starting with a business man that I joint for a couple of trips to amazing destinations staying in the most amazing hotels, to a complete stranger (I only met him once before at sundowners  with common friends), to a pilot (and oh yes.. pilots are just as bad as their reputation).. you can see my pattern. Never anything too serious. More for the fun of it. For the fun of exploring a new destination as well as a new human being.
Yes, you might argue that it is nicer to travel with someone you know, then you can focus solely on exploring the destination, no arguments about which cuisine to eat or what to visit because you are not testing the waters of the other person’s likes and dislikes. I fully agree. However, I always enjoyed the part of discovering the other human as well and where better to do that than in an environment that is new to both. Let’s say I like to play with fire and I like to do things out of the ordinary. Or perhaps I just like the excitement. The excitement of putting the whole trip together. The excitement of thinking about it. The excitement of going through the airport routine with a relative stranger. The excitement of seeing the hotel room for the first time. Maybe one day this excitement has worn off and I’ll decide to see the rest of the world with one and the same man. Who knows.

So, do you want to come with me? (**wink**) – you know who you are.

P.S. it is the month of love and I am having thoughts about dating, love and the concept of all of that. So, expect more posts like this to follow.
